The G&G M130 AEG spring is a replacement or tuning spring for AEG airsoft replicas, designed to adjust the shooting velocity — upward as an upgrade, downward to comply with field requirements. Characteristic of this spring is the non-linear winding: the distance between the windings varies, so that certain sections are spaced closer together than others. Where the windings are closer together, the resistance is lower, which makes the spring easier to compress. This has a practical advantage: the piston cam in the gearbox is subjected to considerably less stress, which benefits the lifespan of the gearbox.
