For long-range target shooting — and for hunting in countries where that is permitted — the Nielsen 7.62 mm 61.5 grain slugs are a strong choice. The high weight combined with the aerodynamic shape delivers stable flight and a ballistic coefficient of 0.120.
Pressed from soft lead and fitted with a hollow point: this combination makes the dish base slug a projectile that expands quickly and powerfully on impact. The slugs come oiled from the packaging, so you can use them directly.
Note: these slugs are not suitable for FX Smooth Twist barrels, but do work with the FX Smooth Twist X slug liner.
