For those who want to shoot at long distances with maximum accuracy, the Javelin Gen 2 5.5 mm 26 grain (.217) slugs are a serious option. During development, practical experiences — both in the field and on the range — were combined with Doppler radar measurements, resulting in a slug with a high ballistic coefficient and significant impact force.

Each slug is forged, which ensures that density and cohesion are consistent throughout the projectile. This forging process also delivers high uniformity and a tight smooth finish. The tangent ogive shape and carefully machined flat point result in a ballistic coefficient of 0.081 — which greatly limits sensitivity to wind and other external factors and contributes to accuracy at distance.

Soft lead composition and a hollow point together enable rapid deformation on impact. The result is an explosive transfer of energy to the target.
