You keep ballast in place thanks to the adjustable weight platform, which securely clamps the weights. You can use Lead Sled weight bags for it, but other ballast works just fine too.
At the front is a weather-resistant support with rubber that protects the weapon, provides grip and keeps it firmly in place. With two adjustment wheels you can adjust this front support both in height and sideways. The rear support you fine-tune in height via an adjustment wheel under the rear support. A shock-absorbing pad on that rear support protects the stock and eliminates most of the felt recoil. For sport shooters who want to sight in calmly, this is a common choice.
