The Vector Optics Forester 1-8x24 VFD-3 in Coyote FDE is built around a housing made of anodized 6061-T6 aluminum — a material known for its strength and resistance to corrosion. With a weight of 531 grams, the scope adds little to the total weight of your rifle. The tube diameter is 30 mm with an objective diameter of 24 mm, which ensures solid light transmission. Fully multi-coated lenses deliver sharp, clear images for precise observation and aiming.

The magnification range runs from 1x to 8x, making the Forester suitable for both short and medium distances. At the lowest magnification, the field of view is 35 meters at 100 meters distance — ample for good situational awareness. Zoom to the maximum magnification of 8x, and the field of view narrows to 4.9 meters at 100 meters.

The VFD-3 reticle is placed on the second focal plane, meaning the reticle does not enlarge when zooming in. Centrally in the reticle is an illuminated dot with eleven adjustable brightness levels, controlled via the turret on the left side of the housing. This allows for reliable aiming in varying light conditions. The illumination runs on a CR2032 battery.

For point of impact adjustment, the turrets offer a maximum adjustment range of 60 MOA, with a click value of ½ MOA per step. The safe eye relief is between 105 and 120 mm. Inside, the scope is completely filled with nitrogen, which prevents condensation on the inside of the lenses — a common and reliable solution for use in changing weather conditions.
