Shooting Target Caldwell AR500 Rimfire KYL Ring Challenge

If you want to test your shooting skills, the Caldwell AR500 Rimfire KYL Ring Challenge shooting target is a suitable tool for that. KYL stands for Know Your Limits. The target revolves around assessing your own accuracy. You get five round plates with a diameter of 3", each equipped with an opening in the middle. These openings increase in size from left to right, so each subsequent target is harder to hit than the previous one. The accompanying game is built on this concept. For each hit target you earn one point and you decide for yourself when to stop shooting. A full round can yield a maximum of eight points, but if you miss once, your score for that round drops back to zero. Have you already hit four plates and are you unsure about the fifth? Stop then and keep your four points safe. At the end, whoever has the most points wins — and thus knows his or her own limits most sharply. A fun choice for those who like to give their practice a competitive edge.

Setting up and taking down this target goes quickly. The frame consists of thin steel tubes that you connect to each other via polyurethane connectors. The plates themselves are made from AR500 steel and are thus resistant to rimfire ammunition. They have a yellow powder coating that stands out well on virtually any terrain; an additional benefit is that this coating increases rust resistance.
