A compact red dot for varied conditions: the Vector Optics Maverick Gen III 3 MOA in Dark Earth. The housing is made from impact-resistant 6061 aluminium and can withstand a significant impact. With IPX4 classification, the sight is also splash-proof – if water gets on it, operation remains intact. A welcome feature for those shooting outdoors in changeable weather.
Aiming is quick thanks to the 3 MOA dot size, which you pick up without searching. In total you can choose from eleven brightness levels, the lowest two of which work with night vision devices. Switching is done via the spacious turret on the left side; the settings are numbered, so you always know where you are. Power comes from a CR2032 battery.
Before use, adjust the sight properly – necessary for a clean hit. The elevation and windage turrets each have an adjustment range of 60 MOA and adjust 1 MOA per click, with good audible confirmation. The free eye position makes aiming very relaxed in practice. Mounting itself is quick: the quick-detach mounting base clicks smoothly into place.
The set includes, in addition to the sight, a high and a low QD Weaver/Picatinny mount, a honeycomb lens cover that blocks incoming sunlight, and the necessary tools to attach the sight and mounts to each other.
