The Maverick Gen III from Vector Optics is a red dot with a 3 MOA dot, designed for use in varying conditions. The housing is made of impact-resistant 6061 aluminum and features an IPX4 waterproof rating — meaning it is splash-proof and can be carefully sprayed without sustaining damage.
For brightness adjustment, the Maverick has eleven levels, with the two lowest suitable for use with night vision devices. Switching between levels is done via the large turret on the left side, which is equipped with clearly numbered markings so you always know which level you're on. The 3 MOA red dot is quick to find in the sight. A CR2032 battery serves as the power source.
Installation is quick via the included quick-detach mounting base. After securing it, you adjust the red dot using the elevation and windage turrets: both have a total adjustment range of 60 MOA with a click value of 1 MOA per click — each click is clearly audible. The generous eye relief makes the dot comfortable to access in use. A popular choice for sport shooters looking for a compact, directly mountable red dot.
