Element Optics Titan 3K Ballistic Rangefinder

With a weight of just 362 grams and a horizontal design, the Element Optics Titan 3K is a ballistic rangefinder specifically built for long-range shooters. Two buttons on the top are all you need to operate it — clear and quick to use. Via Bluetooth you pair the rangefinder with the Element Ballistics app, where you set up the ballistic profile. After that, the smartphone can stay in your bag: the built-in ballistic chip takes care of all calculations. Furthermore, the Titan 3K is compatible with the Element Optics HYPR-7 riflescope. These two devices then share the same data, so they work together to arrive at a predicted point of impact.

As the name suggests, the Titan 3K works out to 3000 meters — under favorable conditions that range can reach even further, but Element Optics guarantees a minimum of 3000 meters. The magnification is 7x, with a field of view of 12.3 meters at 100 meters. The 26 mm objective lens provides sufficient light transmission, so you can observe well even in less than ideal lighting conditions. All measurement data appears on the dual color T-OLED display: the green indicator shows that the laser is active, while angle and distance are displayed in red. Use the button on the top to switch between the three measurement modes:
• LOS – Line of Sight: the actual distance to the target.
• HCD – Horizontal Component Distance: the horizontal distance to the target.
• BALC – Ballistic Calculator: displays the LOS together with a ballistic calculation for the point of impact, displayed in MOA, MRAD, inches or cm.

The brightness of the display can be adjusted in six levels. Press the two top buttons simultaneously to switch between those levels, making the rangefinder usable in varying lighting conditions.

Hold the mode button for three seconds to switch between First and Last mode. In First mode, the Titan 3K registers the distance to the nearest object; if the laser accidentally hits something further away — a tree for example — the distance to the front object remains visible. Last mode works the exact opposite: there the rangefinder only shows the distance to the furthest registered object.

While most rangefinders have a vertical layout, the Titan 3K opts for a horizontal arrangement. The optical lens is located in the middle, the laser on the left side and the battery compartment on the right side. That spacious compartment accommodates an 18650 battery; charging is via USB-C. The USB-C port is on the rear, directly next to the retractable eyecup.

At 126 mm in length, the Titan 3K takes up little space. The weather-resistant housing has a rough texture on both sides, so you can hold it firmly either one-handed on the left or right or with both hands. The centrally placed buttons are easily accessible from both grip positions. On the underside is a thread for an Arca-Swiss mounting plate, convenient for anyone who wants to mount the rangefinder on a tripod. A solid choice for the serious long-range shooter who wants to combine ballistics and convenience in one device.
