For the blade, SOG chose D2 steel with a hardness of 58-60 HRC: hard enough to maintain the cutting edge for a long time, but not so hard that sharpening becomes difficult. Because this steel also resists wear well, maintenance is limited and you can use the knife for an extended period before the sharpening stone is needed.

The handle consists of two scale parts in G10, featuring a light texture that gives your grip a little extra purchase. A subtly curved profile ensures it sits comfortably in the hand and can handle the necessary force. G10 itself is a particularly strong and wear-resistant material that barely absorbs water, making it virtually moisture-repellent and well-suited for outdoor use — a practical choice if you take the knife outside frequently. At the end of the handle is a replaceable carrying clip.
