The Kershaw Lightyear is a sleek pocket knife with a handle made of glass-reinforced nylon — a material known for its strength and wear resistance. Thanks to its compact profile, the knife fits effortlessly in a trouser pocket without taking up too much space. The milled grooves in the handle give the knife a distinctive futuristic, technical look.
The blade of 4Cr14 steel has a glass-peened surface and combines good corrosion resistance with easy sharpening. A spear point tip and plain edge, together with the 7.9 cm length and 2.7 mm thickness, provide ample cutting surface and robustness. Opening is quick via the flipper in combination with Kershaw's Speedsafe assisted opening system — a proven mechanism found on many Kershaw models.
On the right side is a pocket clip that holds the knife in tip-up position, both in your trouser pocket and on your belt. Through the hole in the pommel you can optionally attach a carry cord for extra security when carrying.
