HikMicro Heimdal H4D Night Vision Camera

The HikMicro Heimdal H4D is a single-handed night vision camera with a 1.39" AMOLED display and an image resolution of 2560x1440. Thanks to Electric Image Stabilization, the camera delivers a stable and sharp image at 25 fps, and with the focus ring you can quickly focus on your subject. The Heimdal H4D can be used both during the day and in darkness — the built-in Smart IR Illuminator automatically adjusts brightness to the lighting conditions. In low light, the brightness is increased; in abundant light, it is reduced, which is also favorable for power consumption and thus battery life.

The replaceable and rechargeable Li-ion battery lasts more than four hours with normal use. You can access it via a flap on the side of the camera. Recorded photos and videos are stored on the built-in 32 GB memory card and can be viewed immediately via the photo and video viewer in the camera itself. If you want to view the images on your phone, you can wirelessly connect the Heimdal to the free HikMicro Sight app.

Operation is via buttons on top of the housing — conveniently within thumb's reach for single-handed use. Almost every button has a dual function:

Power button:
Short press: put the camera on standby or wake it up.
Press and hold: turn the camera on or off.

Capture/record button:
Short press: take a photo.
Press and hold: start or stop video recording.

Mode button:
Short press: switch between the four different modes (day, night, auto, defog).
Press and hold: enter or exit the menu.

Zoom button:
Short press: switch between the four zoom levels (1x, 2x, 4x, 8x).

With four recording modes — day, night, auto, and defog — the Heimdal H4D is versatile. The defog mode was developed by HikMicro itself and makes it possible to capture sharp, readable images even in fog. The built-in 850nm infrared illuminator with a range of 200 meters ensures this. As for weather resistance, the camera carries an IP67 rating: completely dust and dirt-proof, and resistant to submersion up to one meter deep for 30 minutes. A solid choice for those working in changing outdoor conditions.
