Moisture is a common cause of rust and material damage to rifles, ammunition and accessories. The Silent Dry Pioneer desiccant is designed to keep enclosed spaces such as gun cases dry. One stone covers volumes up to 20 liters; for larger spaces combine multiple stones.
What makes the Pioneer practical is its reusability. After approximately 30 days the stone is saturated and must be dried. This is done via the microwave: first remove the rubber protective cover, place the stone in it for 9 minutes at 200 to 300 watts, and it is ready for use. Before the very first use it is advisable to also dry the stone, as it may have absorbed moisture during transport.
The included removable rubber cover protects the stone and contains a moisture indicator. This indicator changes color when the stone is full, so you know exactly when drying is needed. A common choice for shooters who store their equipment in a case or cabinet.
