With the Lyman "Ammo Checker" cartridge gauge, cartridges can be checked for correct dimensional accuracy for the cartridge chamber in just one movement. The gauge is machined from a solid block of 6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum for rugged durability.
The tolerances are on SAAMI level. SAAMI = Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute, American organization of weapons manufacturers whose main tasks are safety and standardization for weapons-related matters.
