Two microphones on the outside pick up sound, so you can not only hear clearly but also accurately determine the direction of sounds. You can adjust this behavior to the situation via different sound profiles.

Four audio profiles are available to you: 'hunter', 'focus', 'shooter' and 'ambient off'. In 'hunter' – the default mode – you hear ambient sound at natural volume while dampening adjusts accordingly. If you want to hear animals moving or pick up footsteps, 'focus' increases amplification even further. 'Shooter' does the opposite and dampens significantly, exactly what you want at the shooting range. Choose 'ambient off' and the headset works purely passively, although communication still remains fully active.

It is precisely this communication that makes an active headset like this so useful. Because loud sounds are filtered out and speech comes through clearly on the inside, you remain intelligible even in a noisy environment. A microphone with radio connection is easily connected via the AUX port.
