The MDT Field Stock – Tikka T3/T3x SA – Black is a chassis with an aluminium core for maximum stiffness, finished with polymer overmolding on the outside. This combination provides a sturdy construction that feels comfortable in your hand even at low temperatures. The classic, traditional design aligns with an ergonomic shooting position, while the design simultaneously offers space for technical features that are valuable for both hunting and competitive shooting.
As for accuracy: the V-block bedding holds the action in place with high precision and minimizes play during firing. Additionally, the barrel floats freely in the handguard (free floating barrel), which benefits shot consistency. Together, these two features ensure reliable and repeatable shooting performance. The chassis is also compatible with AICS magazines, which are designed for consistent and trouble-free loading.
Adjusting to the shooter is quick and tool-free. The cheek rest is adjusted via a rotating knob on the underside, so your eye always aligns correctly with the scope. When you set the cheek rest to the lowest position, the bolt is also easy to remove — a handy detail in practice. The length of pull (LOP) is also adjustable via supplied shim plates, allowing the chassis to be customized for virtually any shooter.
For mounting accessories, the forend offers M-LOK slots on the underside and sides, suitable for bipods among other things. Two sling mounts — one at the front and one at the rear — make it possible to attach a rifle sling or similar accessory.
Installation is straightforward: place the action in the chassis and secure it with two screws. No gunsmith needed, and your rifle is quickly equipped with a solid upgrade.
