Compact and with a shape that feels comfortable in your hand: that's how the Caldwell E-Max Link walkie-talkie presents itself. Connecting to your hearing protection can be done in two ways. The box includes an audio cable with a 3.5 mm plug, but if you prefer to work without a cable, you can enable the Bluetooth function and pair the hearing protection wirelessly. Within ten meters around the walkie-talkie you stay connected this way — if you put the device down somewhere, you can simply keep listening within that ten-meter range, without a cable getting in your way.

You can talk over a considerable distance: the communication range extends up to 19 kilometers. Because the walkie-talkie picks up signals throughout that entire range, it's convenient that you can set the squelch level yourself. You prevent confusion about who is trying to make contact with the ten call tones, which help you and your companions tell each other apart. Besides that, there are a few extra features: hold the menu button briefly and the walkie-talkie locks, and for hands-free transmission there is the Voice Activated Keying (VOX) function. For those going out in groups, a common choice.

The power comes from a Li-Ion battery, good for eight hours of use. A full charge takes just under four hours and happens via the included charging cable with USB Type-C connection.
