For use on Weaver/Picatinny rails, the Wheeler 25.4 mm Low Picatinny mount is a solid choice. The clamping screw serves double duty: it secures the mount and acts as a stop pin that prevents shifting from recoil.
The aluminium housing keeps the weight low without compromising on rigidity. Because the contact surfaces of the two halves are angled diagonally, there was enough space for six torx bolts and for the fold-out spirit level — without the flanges having to be wide.
It is precisely this fold-out spirit level that makes this mount practical in use. At greater distances, a straight reticle — and thus a straight rifle — is decisive for shooting accuracy. The spirit level helps you check this quickly and reliably.
