The Expedition WNTR Parka from Merkel Gear's Palearctic collection is a versatile winter jacket engineered for the hunting season and northern expeditions. Built on a 3-layer construction, this jacket delivers exceptional value without compromise on performance. Complete wind and water resistance is assured by a Cocona 37.5® membrane (20,000 mm / 20,000 g/m²/24h), paired with premium G-Loft® synthetic insulation at 120 g/m². In the harshest winter conditions, you remain warm and dry throughout extended field days. The detachable hood provides a generous 180° field of view and features synthetic fur trim that functions as a practical detail well beyond the hunting season. The visor edge is subtly reinforced to shed rain and snow effectively, while the high collar is lined with soft fabric for comfort against skin. Two oversized, padded Napoleon pockets seal discreetly with concealed YKK #5 zippers. Two large flap pockets with toggle buttons integrate with the Merkel Gear cartridge system (included). Large buttons allow easy operation even with cold hands. Two side pockets with soft microfleece lining provide additional storage, while two large interior pockets with silent zippers and two mesh pockets at kidney level accommodate optional heat packs. The outer fabric is treated with 37.5® particles and features quiet, brushed microjersey that feels pleasant against skin. The interior uses smooth taffeta with MerkelGear branding. Adjustable cuffs with knit storm cuffs shield against cold, while elastic drawcords at the hood, waist, and hem ensure a customized fit. A YKK #8 two-way zipper with matte metal hardware and concealed under a wide storm flap completes the closure system.
