The redesigned Merino Long Johns from MerkelGEAR are functional base layer undergarments constructed from ultra-soft, breathable, and mulesing-free Merino wool-polyester blend. With a material weight of approximately 240 g/m², these long johns deliver significantly greater insulation than comparable products, resulting in an unmatched combination of lightweight construction and thermal retention. The refined design is purpose-built for those who remain active outdoors during cold months, or for extended periods of stillness during hunting and outdoor pursuits. The intelligent construction of these long johns employs two strategically selected Merino fabric types. Merino-Mesh panels positioned at the knee hollows and crotch area provide optimal ventilation where body heat would otherwise accumulate, while the remainder of the garment offers full insulation coverage. The slightly extended leg length eliminates cold bridging at the ankles, and the slim, elasticated waistband combined with robust flatlock seams prevent irritation and premature wear. This material combination allows your body to maintain optimal performance throughout demanding conditions. Merino wool retains its thermal properties even when moisture-laden and naturally suppresses odor development—advantages no synthetic fabric can match.
