The third generation of the Palearctic MNTN Pant represents a significant step forward across all aspects: more efficient, more breathable, and considerably lighter than its predecessor. Designed specifically for the ambitious stalker and mountain hunter who demands both comfort and functionality, this Merkel Gear pant performs across all seasons. The proprietary double-weave stretch fabric is exceptionally robust and breathable; combined with waterproof, breathable knee and seat panels in heavy-duty Oxford nylon with 37.5™ membrane (20,000 mm / 20,000 g/m²), this pant delivers the freedom of movement essential to active hunting. Whether stalking wild boar at night or pursuing tahr in New Zealand, you will find few pants better suited to demanding mountain hunts. The cut has been fundamentally refined for this generation: snug at the waist, tapering toward the ankles, with triple-stitched pre-formed knee zones and internal seams relocated to the hem areas in a shark-fin profile for climbing-boot compatibility. The innovative Inside-Seam cargo pocket construction sheds rain effectively while proving more robust and refined than conventional pockets. The stretch fabric is again improved, subtly refined in color, and finished with a premium DWR treatment for weather resistance. The precisely engineered waistband features two loop buttons of different sizes, secured against independent release. A round silicone coating on the inside keeps your shirt in place even without a belt. Pant features two side pockets and a rear pocket, all equipped with silent zippers. Both cargo pockets are pre-fitted for the included ammunition flap. The right side includes a generously proportioned ammo pocket. Forty-four centimeter side-ventilation zippers with YKK® self-closing mechanism extend to the knee hollows, providing critical ventilation during strenuous hunts. The legs incorporate integrated, pre-impregnated gaiter construction against snow and ticks. A robust boot hook, concealed within a fabric flap when not in use, attaches to mountain boots to prevent leg ride-up.
