The WNTR Expedition G-LOFT® Trousers from Merkel Gear represent the warmest offering in the range and succeed the earlier WNTR iteration. With 120g/m² G-LOFT® insulation sourced from Austrian manufacturer Goldeck Textil, these expedition trousers rank among the warmest hunting trousers currently available. The outer fabric comprises ultra-fine brushed jersey in olive that absorbs all sound, while the high-performance membrane (20,000mm/20,000g/m²) with 37.5® technology shields against moisture and simultaneously delivers exceptional breathability. The G-LOFT® lining dampens noise to the point where even a fox might approach within rifle range—provided the wearer exercises discipline. The proven MaxComfort waistband protects the kidneys from cooling and closes comfortably without restriction, while extra silicone trim and stretch panels keep Merino base layers in place and accommodate substantial layering without compromise. The front features a robust loop and an extra-stable snap closure from German manufacturer Gutos®. Soft loops inside the waistband accommodate optional Merkel Gear suspenders. The seat is reinforced with Oxford nylon. Seven pockets are fitted with premium YKK® zippers that close without audible metal noise, available with silent cord covers or optional silent semi-automatic pulls. The trousers include a closed rear pocket, two hand-warmer pockets with exceptionally soft and deep microfleece lining, two spacious cargo pockets each with integrated knife slots, and lateral coin pouches on each cargo pocket to keep rangefinder or whistle readily accessible even while seated. Knee-height two-way zippers on the outer seams facilitate heavy boot removal and provide ventilation during active hunting.
