The ILEX PRO represents the second generation of Merkel Gear's established hunting and fieldwork trousers, developed with one objective: to create a fabric as robust as the three-ply Panama weave of its predecessor, yet lighter and featuring technical stretch for improved comfort. After nearly a year of development, the solution emerged in Cordura® NYCO weaves, specifically engineered for tactical and work clothing applications. These weaves deliver three times the strength of conventional cotton. Constructed from 75% premium cotton and 25% Cordura® Nylon® (T420 military standard), the ILEX PRO weighs just 270 grams and achieves exceptional durability, superior abrasion resistance, and remarkable wearing comfort. An improved DWR finish sheds water effectively without compromising breathability. The design has been completely revised with refined fit and innovative seam placement—all stress-bearing seams are executed as triple-stitched, with horizontal seams angled downward to prevent water ingress. The MaxComfort waistband features a semi-automatic slider and two additional belt loops for secure fit. Storage is comprehensive: two deep front pockets, a rear pocket with robust YKK® zip, and two discreet thigh load pockets with YKK® closures. The right thigh pocket integrates a map compartment. All zips operate silently without metallic noise. Pre-formed triple-stitched knees follow natural movement, and the inseam hem incorporates a shark-fin reinforcement for extended durability.
