The Expedition WNTR Parka from Merkel Gear's Palearctic collection is a premium winter jacket engineered for severe cold and extreme winter hunting. Built on a three-layer construction combining the Cocona 37.5® membrane (20,000 mm / 20,000 gr/m²) with 120 g/m² G-Loft® synthetic down from Austrian manufacturer Goldeck Textil, this jacket delivers exceptional performance across harsh terrain—from winter hunting grounds to remote regions like Kamchatka. The membrane ensures complete windproofing and waterproofing while the high-quality synthetic insulation provides reliable warmth and moisture management without compromise on breathability. Designed for functionality in extreme conditions, the parka features a removable, storm-resistant hood with adjustable fit and a 180° field of vision, reinforced by a soft-lined high collar equipped with external attachment bands for headsets. Storage is comprehensive: two sealed Pouches for radio or GPS, two oversized Napoleon pockets under silent-zip storm flaps, and two large flapped pockets fitted with webbing loops for Merkel Gear's foudrail system (one included per jacket). Large buttons accommodate gloved hands, while the dual-direction #8 zip with matte metal components runs behind a broad, button-secured storm flap. Two lower side pockets lined with soft microfl eece, two expansive silent-zip interior pockets, and two mesh pockets at kidney level (for optional heat pads) complete the feature set. Pre-shaped sleeves with smooth textile lining include adjustable cuffs with integrated knit storm collar. The outer fabric, infused with 37.5® particles, is a silent, brushed micro-jersey that feels pleasant against skin on both exterior and hood. Interior lining is smooth taffeta with subtle Merkel Gear detailing in anthracite. Note: This jacket runs large; select one size smaller than usual. Care: Machine wash 30°C with mild, chlorine-free detergent. Do not bleach, tumble-dry, or iron. Avoid prolonged dampness and wash separately.
