BALLISTOL Aluminium Bluing Set – 6-Piece

The BALLISTOL Aluminium Bluing Set contains everything required for surface finishing, new bluing, and restoration of light damage on aluminium components. The set includes an aluminium primer that optimally prepares the surface for the bluing process, plus bluing compound, Gunex Special Weapon Oil spray, gloves, brushes, and cleaning cloths. Bluing is the darkening of material through oxidation, not a coating. The primer plays a crucial role here: it prepares the surface and ensures the bluing works optimally, even on special aluminium alloys. You do not need to sand the surface beforehand, which saves considerable time. The black strike bluing is the first aluminium bluing compound approved for end-users, making it suitable for DIY application. It is wear-resistant and permanent, ideal for working out scratches and friction marks or for complete rebluing of components such as mounting rails, handguards, or smaller parts. Application is straightforward: degrease the surface first with Ballistol cleaner, apply the bluing evenly, allow 20–30 seconds of working time, then pat dry. After 3–4 repetitions, rinse with water and protect the component. Approximately 100 ml is sufficient for one square metre. Note: do not apply below 20°C. Different aluminium alloys may produce varying results; consult the instructions for an overview of expected finishes.
