The elevated design allows you to stack meat and beverages efficiently while maintaining room for an additional layer of ice on top. This enhanced capacity means the Tundra retains ice significantly longer than standard coolers. YETI coolers were born from necessity. When brothers Roy and Ryan Seiders grew frustrated with broken latches, warped lids, and melting ice during hunting and fishing expeditions, they set out to engineer a superior cooler. The result is manufactured using rotational molding—the same technique applied to whitewater kayaks. YETI equipped these boxes with more than double the insulation of standard competitors, delivering exceptional durability and extended ice retention. The one-piece construction yields consistent wall thickness and robust, virtually stress-free corners. The Tundra® is indispensable for hunters, sport anglers, campers, boating and rafting enthusiasts, tailgaters, and grill aficionados. Every feature serves purpose: the COLDLOCK® seal performs like a freezer door, NEVERFAIL® locking hinge pins resist failure, the VORTEX® drain system evacuates water reliably, and ANCHORPOINT™ and T-REX™ closures with LIPGRIP® carry handles ensure secure transport and confident handling.
