BALLISTOL Honing Oil

BALLISTOL Honing Oil significantly extends the service life of your sharpening stone while delivering high cleaning performance that improves sharpening efficiency. By binding steel and stone particles, it creates a smooth, consistent sharpening motion. The oil reduces noise during honing, cools the cutting surface, and prevents the stone from glazing or becoming clogged with abraded material. Suitable for both coarse stones used in initial sharpening and fine-grit natural stones such as Arkansas, Washita, and Mississippi stone. BALLISTOL Honing Oil is food-safe, acid-free, and odorless and tasteless. It protects sharpening stones against rust without evaporating, reacts neutrally with painted surfaces, metal, wood, rubber, and plastic, and does not affect stainless steel, bright steel, or other non-ferrous metals. The formula works effectively on all sharpening stone materials, including ceramic. Application is straightforward: distribute the oil evenly across the stone and work it in using your knife blade. Sharpen as normal. After honing, wipe away metal particles and oil residue with a microfiber cloth, rinse the stone with fresh honing oil, and remove excess oil.
