Swage Support Die Frankford X-10

When reloading on the Frankford Arsenal X-10 progressive press, the swage support is a component that directly contributes to correctly forming the primer pocket in the case. The swaging pin moves from bottom to top when you pull the lever, and the swage support — positioned in the shell plate — simultaneously provides downward pressure on the case. This way, the case is not only held in place by the press itself, but also secured by the combination of shell plate and swage support from above.

If you use multiple shell plates to quickly switch between calibers, an extra copy of this component is a practical addition. Setting up the X-10 swage support requires considerable attention, and by installing and adjusting it in a second shell plate beforehand, you save time when switching to a different caliber. A common solution for reloaders who regularly work with different calibers.
