For .45 PCP air rifles, this Nielsen .45 240 grain slug is highly recommended; it features a hollow point with dish base. According to Nielsen themselves, it is considered the best slug for the Airforce Texan SS.

The special feature lies in the production: instead of casting, this slug is cold pressed. This allows softer lead to be used, with several advantages as a result — the slug adapts better to the rifling and lands, seals the barrel more tightly and expands faster upon impact. This method also produces very uniform slugs in terms of weight and shape.
