Together with renowned knife maker Rick Hinderer, Kershaw designed the Cryo, now the best-selling pocket knife in their assortment. A favorite choice among enthusiasts of a solid EDC knife.
For the blade, the choice fell on 8Cr13MoV steel: hard and tough, and moreover easy to keep sharp. Both the blade and the stainless steel handle scales received a BlackWash coating, good for a tough, rugged look. You open it with one hand, via the flipper or the double-sided thumb stud, with the spring-assisted Kershaw SpeedSafe system lending a helping hand.
A nice detail you'll find at the locking mechanism: the Cryo has a stabilized lock bar. A small block prevents the lock bar from bending too far outward, so it retains its clamping force.
