If you want to aim your rifle more steadily, you secure it against a wall or door with a barricade stop. The Rome Picatinny barricade stop serves as a support point, allowing you to aim more accurately from a fixed position. For shooters who want to anchor their weapon just as well, it's a handy tool.
As for the construction: the frame is made from black anodized, impact-resistant aluminum. On two surfaces there are points made of stainless steel, which allow your rifle to grip well against a surface while the barricade stop itself remains intact. Installation is on a Weaver/Picatinny accessory rail — hence the name — and thanks to the quick-detach system, you can click it off just as quickly as you put it on.
