With the 5.5 mm (.217) HP 25.5 grain slugs from ZAN Projectiles, you choose a projectile with a hollow point and flat base. The soft lead they are made from allows the slug to conform well to the rifling and lands in the barrel; this way you achieve high velocities. When the slug hits the target, the hollow point expands quickly. A favorite projectile among dedicated airgun shooters.
