The patch is made in the form of a Leopard 2 tank - a powerful armored combat vehicle, which is considered to be one of the best in the world. Thanks to its maneuverability and advanced technical characteristics, the Leopard 2 is capable of performing a variety of tasks, including anti-tank defense, target attack and infantry support on the battlefield. A similar cross was one of the elements of the coat of arms of the founder of Zaporizhzhya Sich, Dmytro Bayda-Vyshnevetskyi, Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, and was also depicted on the flags of various regiments of the Zaporizhzhya Army.
